About the Author

Klood P. Trouvay
Klood P. Trouvay writes adult low fantasy defined by morally grey characters and real consequences. He’s been interested in psychology and sociology for as long as he can remember, which naturally shows up in the way he writes people—characters shaped by power, class, fear, and the deals they make just to keep going.
Introverted by nature, he’s usually more comfortable observing a room than taking it over. That habit of watching what people say, what they hide, and what they’ll trade for safety tends to find its way onto the page. He also reads a lot of history and prefers his worlds to feel practical and lived-in. Work, trade, and politics matter here, because they shape everyday life long before the swords ever come out. The result is fantasy that’s grounded and character-led, without being flashy about it.
What started as a casual “let me try one chapter” turned into a genuine obsession with the craft—voice, pacing, and the slow tightening of tension. Joe Abercrombie and George R. R. Martin are two of his biggest influences, especially for their character-first approach and their willingness to let choices have teeth.
When he isn’t writing, he’s usually buried in research books or walking forest trails with his dog, who is convinced every chapter break requires fresh air. On match days, he can be found shouting at the television—briefly reminded that some forces don’t care what you planned, much like the characters in his ongoing New Merserat series.
